New Nordic PhD-Network

The new Nordic Network for the Study of Judaism, Christianity and Islam in the First Millennium (NNJCI) is a network of faculty and PhD-students from Nordic academic insititutions that plans to coordinate annual, interdiscplinary PhD-courses in the form of excursions to relevant destinations and seminars on site, for Nordic PhD-students working in the relevant areas of reserach. The network has been established due to the success of the former NordForsk network for PhD-training, the Nordic Network for the Study of the Religious Roots of Europe, and responds to a wish of PhD students and faculty for continuing Nordic cooperation in PhD education in the historical study of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Have a look at the homepage,,  for more information about the network, planned courses and excursions, and participants. The first course and excursion is organized by Anders-Christian Jacobsen (AU) and takes place at the Danish Institute in Rome, 2-9 October 2015.

The activities of the network are open for all Nordic PhD-students in the relevant fields of study.

Future communication from the NNJCI will be shared on the homepage of the network and through the email list Nordic Newsletter for Early Christian Studies (contact to sign up).
